
Heather McCool, LISWS has been working in the mental health field for 20 years. Heather has experience working with adults who have a desire to manage and overcome symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance use and coping with the many ordinary - and sometimes extraordinary - stressors life can throw at them.
Heather uses a combination of therapy techniques to help identify areas of growth and change in her clients’ lives. Heather is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to relieve distressful symptoms of trauma and believes in the healing power of therapy. Often talk therapy alone is not enough to for deep healing of trauma, Heather brings in gentle breath and movement with yoga and other somatic. techniques to help reset the nervous system while on your healing journey. She strives to provide a safe and comforting place for self-exploration.
Heather received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University in 2005 and her Masters Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2008. When not in the office Heather enjoys spending time with her family, attending her kids many activities and is an avid reader.
